Is Moon.com available in Canada? Yes, with one province excluded

Short answer: Moon.com's restricted-jurisdiction list does not name Canada, so Canadians outside Ontario can register, verify and play. Ontario is named specifically, so Ontarians cannot. This page explains where that line comes from, what a Canadian account involves in practice, and the cautions that apply to Moon everywhere. The sign-up button routes to the real moon.com with our code in place.

What Moon’s terms say about Canada

Moon’s terms of service list 43 restricted jurisdictions, and Canada as a country is not among them. One Canadian province is: the list names Ontario specifically. So the position is split. A resident of British Columbia, Alberta, Quebec or any other province or territory is not excluded by Moon’s terms. A resident of Ontario is.

Moon applies the list at registration and again at identity verification, when it asks for a government ID and a proof of address. For a Canadian outside Ontario those documents pass; for an Ontario address they are the point where the account stops.

Why Ontario and not the rest of Canada

The one Canadian exception is Ontario. Ontario runs its own regulated online gambling market through iGaming Ontario, and operators serving Ontarians are expected to be registered there. Moon is not, so its terms name Ontario specifically as a restricted jurisdiction while leaving the rest of Canada off the list.

Excluding Ontario while serving the rest of the country is common among offshore operators for exactly that reason, and it is consistent with the other entries on Moon’s list, which name the jurisdictions that run their own licensing regimes. Moon itself is licensed by the Anjouan Gaming Authority, an entry we verified on the regulator’s public register and documented on the licence page.

What a Canadian Moon account involves

Registration is an email and a password. The button on this page fills in the promo code moonlev, which gives 3.5% rakeback on the fees you pay.

Verification is a government ID, front and back, and a proof of address. Moon asks for both before the first deposit and again before withdrawals, so a Canadian driver’s licence or passport plus a utility bill or bank statement showing a non-Ontario address is what the process wants. Do it before you deposit; the sign-up guide walks through it.

Money moves in crypto only. There is no card deposit and no Interac; you fund a Moon wallet from your own crypto and withdraw the same way, minus network fees, within limits Moon sets. The fees page covers the four charges on every bet.

The product is Up/Down betting on crypto and stocks at 1x to 1000x leverage, open 24/7, with a play-money mode to learn on. At 1000x a move of about 0.1% against you ends the bet, so start in play money and keep leverage low until that speed is familiar. Bets are settled in your Moon balance in crypto, not in Canadian dollars.

Cautions that apply everywhere

Moon is weeks past public launch, its spread is not disclosed, and nobody outside Moon has a long withdrawal record yet, including us; our own withdrawal test is logged as it happens. The review sets out the trust evidence row by row and the safety checklist is the order to do things in: verify, play money, small first stake, one early withdrawal.

Will this change?

Operators add and remove markets. If Moon adds Canada as a whole to its restricted list, or removes Ontario from it, this page will say so with the date and a link to the changed terms.
